A Woodstock woman died from her injuries after a wreck during Tuesday afternoon rush-hour traffic, police said.

Marilyn S. McQueary, 59, was stopped in her 2008 Saab 93 at a stop sign on northbound Jamerson Road at Shallowford Road about 4:30 p.m., Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

At the same time, a blue 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was eastbound on Shallowford Road.

"For reasons unknown, the driver of the Saab pulled out in front of the Jeep while attempting to turn left onto westbound Shallowford Road," Pierce said in an emailed statement.

The Jeep struck the driver's side door of the Saab, pinning McQueary inside her car, police said.

She was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Justin M. Jones, 21, of Marietta, was the driver of the Jeep and was not injured, police said.

Pierce said no charges are expected to be filed in the accident.

Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to call 770-499-3987.
