A Johns Creek man is $1 million richer after matching the first five Powerball numbers in Saturday night’s drawing.

Dean Tapp, 64, purchased his winning “Quik Pik” ticket at the QuikTrip on Buford Drive in Buford.

A grandfather of three, Tapp is the owner of a manufacturing company in Suwanee.

Tapp told Georgia Lottery Corp. officials that he planned to pay off his mortgage, use part of his winnings to help his two adult children and donate a portion to charity.

The numbers drawn Saturday night were 22, 23, 30, 37 and 39, and the Power Ball was 16. No players matched all six numbers, boosting the estimated jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing to $225 million.
