Jill Scott’s music and eventual acting career all stemmed from her debut album “Who is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1.” Next year, the Philadelphia songstress will celebrate the 20th anniversary with a tour that will hit two Georgia cities.

The “A Long Walk” singer announced on her website Monday that she would set out to celebrate the album, which was released in 2000. The 47-year-old will kick off the tour in Kansas City, Missouri, and extend until March 21 in Columbia, South Carolina. Two of the 21 dates of the tour will be in Georgia. Scott will first perform March 13 in Augusta, and her second Georgia date will be March 20 in Macon, according to Ticketmaster.

Scott told Billboard the album still connects with fans because of “the honest stories and the timing."

“The album is sistah strong yet vulnerable and filled with love,” she said.

Scott said she will perform the album in its entirety on the tour.

“I’m going to be true to the album set list. I'll do every song in the order of the album,” the Philadelphia native told the music publication.

In addition to releasing Grammy Award-winning songs including “Cross My Mind,” Scott has starred on the big and small screen in HBO’s “The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency” and Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?”
