Jennifer Lopez’s former boyfriend reportedly passes away

Actress Jennifer Lopez’s high school sweetheart David Cruz reportedly has passed away, according to several media  outlets.

Spanish publication Día a Día and TMZ reported that Cruz, 51, passed away over the weekend. Cruz reportedly died Saturday at Mount Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan, TMZ reported. The NYC Medical Examiner's Office told TMZ he died of heart disease.

According to Día a Día, Lopez and Cruz dated when the entertainer was 15 years old, and they were still an item as her star begin to rise in the mid-1990s.

“The artist had a relationship with him since she was 15 years old. The relationship lasted 10 years,” the publication posted on Instagram.

Cruz was a devoted father and avid New York sports fan, his partner of 18 years, Isa, told TMZ.

“He was kind and loving. He never held on to anything and was always very open,” she told the site. “He always made sure to end things with an ‘I love you.’ ”
