A snowplow driver suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning when he was hit by a train, KCCI reported.

The accident occurred around 8 a.m. in the Des Moines suburb of Altoona, the television station reported.

According to Trooper Alex Dinkla, of the Iowa State Patrol, the snowplow driver was traveling west and did not see the train coming, WHO reported. The Union Pacific train hit the passenger side of the snowplow and pushed it 300 feet along the track, Dinkla told the television station.

The snowplow driver, whose name has not been released, had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, WHO reported.
