Shortly before 4 p.m., independent journalist George Chidi arrived to the Fulton County Courthouse to testify before a grand jury in an election interference case against former President Donald Trump and others.

Chidi was originally asked to testify on Tuesday morning, but announced Monday afternoon that he was told to appear Monday. “They’re moving faster than they thought,” Chidi said on X, the social media site previously known as Twitter.

In a later update, Chidi said he was sitting with former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan waiting to testify in front of the grand jury.

“He is as calm as a cucumber, soft spoken and wry. We are talking about everything EXCEPT the case,” Chidi said on X.

Chidi stumbled upon the meeting of “alternate” electors inside the Georgia Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, an incident of major interest to Fulton District Attorney Fani Willis. He has indicated his plans to speak with members of the press once his testimony is complete.

Three other witnesses have already testified.
