A 66-year-old man found dead in a home near Lawrenceville Sunday committed suicide by a gunshot wound to the head, the Gwinnett County medical examiner has ruled.

Richard Drummond was found inside a home near Lawrenceville late Sunday night along with his wife, Janie Drummond, 61, who suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center. Her condition was not available.

Officers were sent to the home on LeGrand Circle, in the gated Villages of Huntcrest subdivision, around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, after a woman called 911 to report that there had been shots fired, Gwinnett police spokesman Jeffery Richter said.

The shootings apparently stemmed from a domestic dispute, County police said.
