The official start of the 2019 hurricane season is June 1, but forecasters at the National Hurricane Center said a potential tropical storm could form this weekend or early next week, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
The Hurricane Center said an area of low pressure is expected to form several hundred miles south of Bermuda and gave it a 30% chance of becoming a tropical storm over the next five days.
Forecasters said if a tropical cyclone forms, it is expected to move north or northwest.
