A fire tore though a home in Lawrenceville on Saturday night, displacing seven people, officials said.

No one was injured in the blaze in the 700 block of Parc River Boulevard, Gwinnett Fire said in a statement.

Officials said the cause of the fire was determined to be ashes that were improperly disposed in a trash can.

The people who lived at the house — five adults and two children — were not home at the time.

It took approximately 35 firefighters to put out the blaze in about 25 minutes after responding to the incident at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

The two-story house sustained “extensive damage,” fire officials said. A neighboring home was also damaged.
