It began at about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Police said one or more people in a stolen Chevrolet Lumina began shooting at another vehicle on Burton Road.

The cars turned on Hamilton E. Holmes Road, where the Lumina crashed. It flipped several times before coming to a stop under the overpass.

It was on fire when they arrived on scene, according to police.

Investigators said they found two loaded AK-47s in the area. One rifle was in the passenger seat of the car that crashed, and another on the ground nearby.

Police say one person related to the shooting was rushed to Grady Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. A second person was injured after swerving to avoid the crash, police said.

One person was detained at the scene, but police did not release further information about the person in custody.

Hamilton E. Holmes Road and part of Burton Road were closed for several hours Saturday but have since reopened.
