A pedestrian was rushed to a hospital in critical condition after a car hit him in Atlanta on Sunday and did not stop, according to police.

Investigators are still working to locate the car and driver involved in the incident, which happened at the intersection of Peachtree and Pharr roads just before 3 a.m.

Officers at the scene found a man suffering from “injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” Atlanta police said in a statement. He was taken to a hospital.

“The accident investigation unit responded to the location and are working to determine the circumstance surrounding the incident,” Atlanta police said. An investigation is ongoing.
