Here’s every executive order Trump has signed during his first 100 days

Saturday marks President Donald Trump's first 100 days, and he entered office with an aggressive agenda pledging action on everything from reforming immigration to renegotiating trade deals.

While many of his promises will require congressional action, the president has moved forward with a number of his proposals through executive orders.

Trump has already signed 30, including ones covering immigration, crime reduction and public safety, during his first 100 days. That is the most any president has signed since World War II.

According to the White House, "he has done more to stop the Government from interfering in the lives of Americans in his first 100 days than any other President in history."

What is an executive order?

Executive orders are legally binding directives issued by the president to federal administrative agencies. There have been 13,788 executive orders signed, with every president except William Henry Harrison using them while in office. Perhaps the most famous executive order was Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.

1. Minimizing the economic burden of the patient protection and Affordable Care Act pending repeal

4. Border security and immigration enforcement improvements

5. Protecting the nation from foreign terrorist entry into the United States

The order invokes the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, saying it is aimed at preventing another such strike in the U.S. It bars people from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the U.S. for three months: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. Read the full text of the order.

7. Reducing regulation and controlling regulatory costs

8. Core principles for regulation the United States financial system

9. Task force on crime reduction and public safety

10. Preventing violence against federal, state, tribal and local law enforcement officers

It allows Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Department of Justice to develop a plan to prevent violence against police officers. Read the full text of the order.

11. Enforcing federal law with respect to transnational criminal organizations and preventing international trafficking

12. Providing an order of succession within the Department of Justice

13. Increasing funding and providing improvements for historically black colleges and universities

Trump's order moves the office dedicated to supporting the schools from the U.S. Department of Education to the White House. The order also proposes increasing the role of the private-sector, including private foundations, in improving infrastructure and technology at HBCUs, and it pledges to increase their ability to apply for federal grants. Read the full text of the executive order.

14. Restoring the rule of law, federalism, and economic growth

This order mandates a review of an Obama-era rule aimed at protecting small streams and wetlands from development and pollution.

15. Initiative to promote excellence and innovation at historically black colleges and universities

The initiative will allow schools to work with agencies, private-sector employers, educational associations, philanthropic organizations, and other partners to increase to reduce funding and the quality of HBCUs. Read the full text of the executive order.

16. Revised: Protecting the nation from foreign terrorist entry into the United States

Like the original directive issued in late January, the new order bars travelers from some predominantly Muslim countries for 90 days. Iraq – a major ally in the fight against the Islamic State -- has been dropped from the original list of seven nations. 17. A comprehensive plan for reorganizing the executive branch

This order directs the Office of Management and Budget to come up with a plan to improve efficiency in the federal government by reorganizing and reducing the number of federal agencies. Read the full text of the executive order. 

18. The revocation of federal contracting executive orders

This order revokes three executive orders issued by Obama. Two of the revoked orders dealt with education, including teacher performance assessments and identifying and improving failing schools. 19. Promoting energy independence and economic growth

This order revokes a number of Obama-era regulations that addressed climate change and energy production. 20. Combating drug addiction and the opioid crisis

This order will work to combat drug abuse, addiction, and overdose, including opioid abuse, addiction, and overdose. Read the full text of the executive order. 

21. Regarding the omnibus report on significant trade deficits

It's aimed at cracking down on trade abuses. Officials will have 90 days to produce a country-by-country, product-by-product report that will serve as the basis of future decision-making by the administration on trade-related issues. Read the full text of the order.

23. Establishing enforcement of antidumping and countervailing duties and Violations of Trade and Customs Laws

The order asks that the government propose new rules and changes that will stop what he calls abuses in a visa program used by U.S. technology companies.

25. Identifying and reducing tax regulatory burdens

This will commission a review of the nation's tax regulations.

26. Promoting agriculture and rural prosperity in America

The order will direct the new agriculture secretary to identify and eliminate what the president says are unnecessary regulations that hurt farmers and rural communities.

27. Review of Designations Under the Antiquities Act

It directs Trump’s interior secretary to review the designation of dozens of national monuments on federal lands.

28. Enforcing statutory prohibitions on federal control of education 

It gives the education secretary 300 days to identify areas where Washington has overstepped its legal authority in education, and modify and repeal regulations and guidance from the department.

29. Improving accountability and whistleblower protection at the department of veterans affairs

The order is meant to improve accountability and protect whistleblowers.

30. Implementing an America-first offshore energy strategy

This order will direct Trump’s interior secretary to review an Obama-era plan that dictates which locations are open to offshore drilling, with the goal of the new administration to expand operations.
