Dr. Rita Helfand, part of the team leading the Centers for Disease Control’s response to the global Ebola outbreak, will discuss combating the disease at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at a Harvard Club of Georgia forum at Trees Atlanta, 225 Chester Ave.

Earlier this week President Obama visited the CDC to announce a major increase in the U.S. response to the Ebola outbreak by sending troops, healthcare workers, building materials and medical supplies to West Africa.

Rey de Castro, a statistician at the CDC will moderate a question and answer session.

Admission is $20.
