Gwinnett police seek suspect in armed robbery

Gwinnett police need help identifying an armed robber with a taste for cigars.

The suspect robbed a Happy Food Mart near Norcross of more than $1,200 on Oct. 11 with a handgun, Cpl. Jake Smith said Thursday in an emailed statement.

In addition to the cash in the register, the suspect took the clerk’s wallet and cell phone as well as several cigars from the counter, Smith said.

Police did not identify the brand.

Surveillance cameras released Thursday captured several images of the gunman — estimated to be between 18 and 24 years old — who was wearing a green T-shirt with a yellow Nike emblem.
