A Gwinnett County man was being held without bond Wednesday night for allegedly causing a wreck earlier this week that killed a 38-year-old motorcyclist.

Kenneth Eugene Griffin, 42, of Dacula faces several charges in the wreck, including first-degree vehicular homicide and reckless driving and several traffic violations, Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett County police said Wednesday.

Griffin was arrested and booked into the Gwinnett County jail shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators believe Griffin, driving a red 2006 BMW 325ci, entered the turn lane, failed to stop and crashed on Beaver Ruin Road, causing a multi-vehicle wreck shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.

Brandon Charles Roy, 38, was stopped on his black 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle with three automobiles in the westbound left lane when he was struck, police said. Roy, of McDonough, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

Griffin and the drivers of two of the cars involved were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for treatment, but none were seriously injured, police said. The driver of the third car involved was not injured.
