The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in Douglas County.

About 11:35 p.m. Friday, 25-year-old Christine Lawrence of Mableton was attempting to cross Maxham Road near Old Alabama Road when a tractor-trailer hit and killed her, the State Patrol told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an emailed statement.

The "truck driver was not at fault," the State Patrol said.

No other details were released Saturday.
