Companion Animal Rescue League and the Georgia SPCA are having an adoption extravaganza this weekend at the Johns Creek PetSmart, 3630 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee.

The event will feature face painting and children’s activities and kittens and puppies available for adoption. Participants qualify for reduced adoption rates for kittens and adult cats, $60. Both adoption agencies work to reduce the rate of homeless animals being euthanized at animal control facilities.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday.
