A 17-year-old is facing murder charges after police accused him of being involved in the death of a man found shot near a Griffin golf course Wednesday afternoon.

Cedravious Wilkerson of Griffin is accused in the shooting death of 20-year-old Pierre Parrish.

Parrish, of Locust Grove, was found dead in a wooded area near the Griffin Municipal Golf Course around 4:15 p.m., Griffin police spokeswoman Investigator Laurie Littlejohn said in a news release. Police said he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and his body had been lying there for “several days” after his death.

Authorities said they believe Wilkerson and Parrish were both affiliated with “Sex Murder Money,” a subset of the Bloods street gang. It is not clear what led to the fatal shooting or how Wilkerson was identified as a suspect.

“Investigators are still actively following up on leads and developing information,” Littlejohn said. “The Griffin Police department anticipates the arrest and prosecution of others related to this case, but this facet of the investigation continues to develop.”

Wilkerson was taken to the Spalding County Jail, where he remains without bond. In addition to malice murder, he faces Gang Act charges, Littlejohn said.
