A 60-year-old grandfather was gunned down on a southwest Atlanta street Saturday night, police said.

Officers found Kirk Dorsey lying on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of Childress Drive about 10 p.m., Atlanta police spokesman Officer Jarius Daugherty told AJC.com.

He was unresponsive with a gunshot wound, and was pronounced dead at the scene, which is near Therrell High School, Daugherty said.

Dorsey, who is originally from Ohio, had three daughters and eight grandchildren, according to a GoFundMe page set up by his family. They asked for donations to support the cost of memorial services.

Police are investigating the homicide and have not made any arrests.
