Joel Hartman, the "homeless hero" who returned a woman's wallet he found digging through trash hoping to find leftover food, has received national attention, gifts, job offers, cash and well wishes since his good deed. He even got a makeover Monday compliments of the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, where he was a guest through Thanksgiving thanks to hotel staff that searched tirelessly to find him.
The Cobb County Commission, by a vote of 4-1, approved a deal Tuesday to build a new Atlanta Braves stadium in the Cumberland Mall area, a location closer to more ticket buyers than Turner Field in downtown Atlanta. The deal commits the county to spending $300 million in public money to build the $672 million ballpark. District 4 Commissioner Lisa Cupid was the only dissenting vote.
Homeowners. Metro Atlanta home prices continue to climb, up 19 percent over a year ago in September, according to the latest S&P/Case-Shiller index.

Smoking on Georgia college campuses soon could be over as the regents consider a total ban for all campuses in the university system. The proposal follows a national trend of similar bans seen as health initiatives.
