Georgia teen wanted for allegedly leaving the scene of fatal crash

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the community’s help in locating a teen accused of leaving the scene of a fatal crash last week.

Officials say Drequan Brown, 17, is wanted for theft by receiving after a fatal crash, which happened on Feb. 17 on Napier Avenue in Macon, according to a report by CBS affiliate WMAZ.

Sheriff’s deputies believe a 15-year-old male driver was behind the wheel of a stolen Nissan Sentra, with four other passengers, when the crash happened around 2 a.m.

According to investigators, a police chase ensued when the teenager ran a stop light. The teen eventually ended up flipping the car and all the passengers were ejected. One of the passengers, Shakayla Hill, 14, was killed in the crash. She was a student at Howard Middle School.

The driver and another 15-year-old stayed at the scene, but the sheriff’s office believes Brown and another kid ran away. The driver will be charged with murder after being released from the hospital, authorities said.
