An Albany State University student was fatally struck Monday by a city bus on the east campus, according to the school’s Facebook post.

Adonis Butler was pronounced dead at the scene, the university said in its post.

The Dennis Drive campus entrance, which is adjacent to the student union, will be closed until further notice, the school said Monday afternoon.

Albany State Police, the Albany Police Department and the Georgia State Patrol are investigating, the school said in its Facebook post.

Counseling is available by calling 229-500-2013 or by visiting the Billy C. Black Building, room 170, the school said.
