Money for Education

The Georgia Lottery remains one of the most successful in nation. Money provided for education programs, including the HOPE scholarship, has increased 17 out of 19 years. Proceeds are projected to increase for the current fiscal year, which ends June 30.

Lottery in metro Atlanta

The Georgia Lottery was created to support education programs, mainly pre-k and the HOPE Scholarship. A percentage of lottery ticket sales go to prizes. Here is a look at how four metro Atlanta counties have fared since the lottery started 20 years ago:
