The preliminary cause of death was "traumatic injuries due to dog attack," according to Crawford County Sheriff Lewis S. Walker. Walker told news station WMAZ that Becham had bite marks on his body. The Browns are the owners of the three dogs that caused Becham's death.

Affidavits obtained by Macon news station WGXA show the couple allowed their three dogs -- a bulldog mix, a lab mix, and another bulldog -- to roam freely and weren't under any physical control or containment.

The couple made their first appearance in court Tuesday.
