After a search lasting more than a month, authorities apprehended Rodnie Maurice Stokes, a fugitive wanted in connection with a June killing in Gainesville.

Stokes, 27, is charged with murder and possession of a gun by a convicted felon in connection with the June 5 drug-related shooting death of 41-year-old Cedric Huff, officials said. Gainesville police said Stokes was located and taken into custody through a joint effort with the U.S. Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Police said information indicated Stokes was in a Suwanee residence, and on July 16, working with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, police executed a search warrant and took him into custody.

He is being held at the Hall County Jail without bond.
