A quick-thinking employee at a Macon pizza shop thwarted a robbery and held the suspect at gunpoint until deputies arrived Monday night.

The suspect, identified as Corey Stewart, 24, according to news outlet WMAZ, reportedly walked inside the pizza shop in the 1300 block of Gray Highway and demanded money just before 11 p.m.

Stewart reportedly threatened to shoot up the store if he wasn’t given money, WMAZ said, citing a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

When employees didn’t give him money, Stewart went to the restroom, according to WMAZ.

An employee got their handgun and held Stewart at gunpoint until deputies arrived, the news outlet reported. No one was hurt.

Stewart was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony and possession of a gun during the commission of a crime, WMAZ reported.
