Fulton County police said Tuesday that neighbors alerted them to the death of a man whose body may have been in the home near College Park for more than a week.
Officers were called to 225 Marcliff Court Monday afternoon. Upon seeing the door to the home open, neighbors had gone inside and discovered the body of the homeowner, said Cpl. Kay Lester of Fulton County police.
“Investigators believe he may have been deceased for one to two weeks,” Lester said in an email. “Foul play is suspected.”
The man was 50-year-old Dume William Ejube, Lester said. Police have no suspects in the apparent stabbing, she said.
A neighbor across the street told Channel 2 Action News that she noticed the front door open and asked another neighbor, Chris Hunt, to investigate.
Hunt said that is when they discovered Ejube, who he described as a friendly guy from Africa, dead in the kitchen. His car had been missing for about two weeks and neighbors had noticed a stranger recently picking up his mail and going into the house, the news station reported.
“We’re just very upset that something like this could happen 25 feet from where we sleep,” Hunt told the news station. “It’s very unsettling because we don’t know what happened. We don’t know if we have a killer in the area or what.”
Recently a man and woman were at the home helping Ejube do some repairs, Hunt said.
