On Wednesday, the Democratic candidates for president will debate in Atlanta

Georgia to host November Democratic presidential debate

Atlanta's time in the national political spotlight did not end after President Donald Trump's visit last week.

In fact, it's just ramping up. This week, 10 of the leading Democratic presidential hopefuls will descend on the city for the fifth debate of the primary season.

The debate, which is being hosted by the Washington Post and MSNBC, will be held at Tyler Perry Studios. The studio, which is the only major film studio in the country owned by an African American, sits on what was formerly the site of Fort McPherson army base.

It includes 12 sound stages, named for prominent African American actors and actresses — including the Oprah Winfrey sound stage where the candidates will converge.

While securing a ticket to the event itself is going to be tough, there are a number of ways to partake in debate-related activities throughout the city. Or, if you are staying home, here's how to tune in.

Roundtable With Stacey Abrams 
Hosted by: Democratic National Committee 
When: 9:30-11 a.m., Nov. 19 
Where: 115 M.L.K. Jr Drive SW Suite 225A, Atlanta 
Stacey Abrams, along with Democratic Party of Georgia chair Nikema Williams and other guests, will discuss the voter suppression in Georgia.

Cafecito Por Latina Equal Pay
Hosted by: Democratic National Committee
When: 5:30-7 p.m., Nov. 19
Where: Buenos Dias Café, 30 Decatur Street SE, Atlanta
The DNC's Mujeres Mobilize is an effort to engage Latina women to organize and get out the vote for Democratic candidates in 2020.

Chop It Up – GeorgiaHosted by: Democratic National Committee
When: 6-8 p.m., Nov. 19
Where: Virgil's Gullah Kitchen and Bar, 3721 Main Street, College Park
Chop It Up is an effort by the DNC to organize black men across the country to build a community of organizers ahead of 2020.

Women for Trump "Empower Hour"
Hosted by: Donald J. Trump for President
When: 6:30 p.m., Nov. 19
Where: Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and Park
6110 Blue Stone Road, Sandy Springs
Although not specifically tied to the debate, representatives from the Trump campaign will be in town the night before the debate to hold a "Women For Trump" event. The event is slated to include Kimberly Guilfoyle and Katrina Pierson.

DNC Civic Engagement and Voter Protection Summit kickoff 
Hosted by: Democratic National Committee
When: 9:30-10 a.m., Nov. 20
Where: The Gathering Spot, 384 Northyards Blvd NW, Atlanta
DNC Chair Tom Perez and Georgia Democratic Party Chair Nikema Williams will host a summit on civic engagement and voter protection. They will be joined by local leaders to discuss the DNC's strategy and discuss how civil rights groups have historically worked to protect the right to vote.

Atlanta meet up
Hosted by: The Young Turks
When: 5 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: Omni Hotel at CNN Center, International Ballroom
Georgia political candidates Cenk Uygur, Mayor Ted Terry and William Haston and Bernie Sanders campaign co-chair, Nina Turner will gather for a meet up and rally prior to the debate.

Pro-life Democrat Rally
Hosted by: Democrats For Life of America
When: 5-8 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: Tyler Perry Studios
Described as a group of "left-learning, pro lifers" from Georgia, the group says they will gather outside the debate venue to call upon the candidates to represent democrats who "oppose late-term abortions."

Women for Trump debate watch party 
Hosted by: Women for Trump/ Donald J. Trump for President
When: 6:30 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: Cobb County Republican Party Headquarters
799 Roswell Street NE, Marietta
Women for Trump will host a debate watch party in Cobb County. The event will also feature information on ground efforts intended to get the president reelected.

Gwinnett County Democrat Presidential Debate Watch Party
Hosted by: Gwinnett County Democrats
When: 7 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: Greek Island Grill & Bar
3320 Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, Suwanee
Hosted by the Gwinnett County Democrats, the watch party will have food and a representative from the Bernie Sanders campaign.

Democratic Debate Watch Party
Hosted by: Cobb County Democratic Committee
When: 7-11 p.m., Nov. 20
Where:  East Cobb/Cumberland: The Monticello (21 yrs+ only)

The Cobb County Democratic Committee will hold a number of watch parties throughout the county. The events are also slated to include debate bingo and snacks.

Protest Democrat Debate
Hosted by: Main Street Voters for Trump/ Atlanta Tea Party
When: 7-9 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: TBD
Members of the Atlanta Tea Party say they will protest the Democratic debate being held in the city, although there is not currently much more information publicly available on the event.

Atlanta Democratic Party of Georgia watch party
Hosted by: Atlanta Democratic Party of Georgia
When: 8 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: Wild Haven Beer, 1010 White Street SW, Atlanta
The state Democratic party will host a number of watch parties across the metro area and state.

Debate watch party
Hosted by: Hispanic And Hip Hop Political Action Committee
When: 8-11 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: BQE Restaurant & Lounge
262 Edgewood Avenue Northeast, Atlanta
Hosted by the PAC, Hispanic And Hip Hop Political Action Committee, the event is billed as an effort to build a grassroots coalition. The group says they will hold meetups and mixers up until the 2020 election, working on behalf of the eventual Democratic candidate.

Debate Watch Party
Hosted by: Georgia STAND-UP and Black Youth Vote
When: 8-11 p.m., Nov. 20
Where: 55th & Park Restaurant, 55 Park Place, Atlanta
The watch party features food, trivia and giveaways. The groups identify as non-partisan and ask that attendees "come with your non-partisan hat on as well."

Athens Democratic Debate Watch Party
Hosted by: Athens-Clarke County Democrats
When: 9 p.m.-midnight, Nov. 20
Where: Little Italy
125 North Lumpkin Street, Athen
The Democratic committee in Athens-Clarke county will hold a debate watch party. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, according to the event page.
