Georgia to host November Democratic presidential debate

From protests to watch parties: Debate events happening in Atlanta

On Wednesday, the Democratic candidates for president will debate in Atlanta

Atlanta’s time in the national political spotlight did not end after President Donald Trump’s visit last week.

In fact, it’s just ramping up. This week, 10 of the leading Democratic presidential hopefuls will descend on the city for the fifth debate of the primary season.

The debate, which is being hosted by the Washington Post and MSNBC, will be held at Tyler Perry Studios. The studio, which is the only major film studio in the country owned by an African American, sits on what was formerly the site of Fort McPherson army base.

It includes 12 sound stages, named for prominent African American actors and actresses — including the Oprah Winfrey sound stage where the candidates will converge.

While securing a ticket to the event itself is going to be tough, there are a number of ways to partake in debate-related activities throughout the city. Or, if you are staying home, here’s how to tune in.
