At least four cars hit a tree that fell across Tara Boulevard before daybreak.
Police received calls at about 5:02 a.m. that a tree had fallen across Tara Boulevard northbound at Cardinal Road and that four cars had hit the tree, said Clayton County Police spokesman Lt. Phillip Bailey.
Police believe a fifth car may have hit the tree and left the area before police arrived.
One motorist was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The northbound lanes of Tara Boulevard were blocked for over an hour. The tree was cleared from the roadway by around 7:30 a.m.
