DeKalb County police suspect foul play in the disappearance of a 78-year-old paraplegic man who has been missing for more than a year, authorities said Thursday.

Daniel Kwon was last seen leaving his Chamblee home on Sept. 3, 2019, but hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Kwon, a Korean immigrant, uses a wheelchair to get around and requires daily medication, DeKalb police spokeswoman Michaela Vincent said.

She said investigators have identified a “person of interest” in the case and will release that person’s name during a news conference Friday afternoon at DeKalb police headquarters. Kwon’s two daughters will attend and are expected to make a plea to the public for any information about their father’s disappearance.

Anyone who has seen Kwon or knows his whereabouts is asked to call investigators at 770-724-7710.

No additional details about the case have been released.
