The Forsyth County inmate who walked away during work detail remained on the loose late Friday. But a woman was arrested for allegedly helping him escape, according to police.
Koby Blanchard, 39, of Cumming, whose previous charges include arson, burglary and theft, was last seen at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cumming Police Department, where he works during daytime hours, Lt. Bryan Zimbardi with Cumming police said.
“This individual is not considered a threat to public safety at this time, and is not believed to be armed.” Zimbardi said in an emailed statement. “He is, however, escaped from custody and currently at large.”
Blanchard was last seeing wearing an orange jumpsuit, but likely changed clothes quickly, according to police. His last known address was on Keith Bridge Road.
Late Friday, Margaret Cheryl Broome was arrested and charged with aiding escape, hindering apprehension and possession of controlled substances, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said.
Anyone with information on Blanchard’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 770-781-3087.
