Former WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist Chamique Holdsclaw pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges related to an alleged November attack.

Holdsclaw, 35, of Smyrna, faces six charges for the Nov. 13 incident, including two counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage in the first degree, two counts of criminal damage in the second degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to police and jail records. She was indicted late last month and attended a pre-trial hearing Thursday.

Holdsclaw was arrested after she allegedly smashed the windows of a Range Rover belonging to WNBA player Jennifer Lacy, who told Atlanta police she was Holdsclaw’s ex-girlfriend, according to police. Holdsclaw allegedly smashed the driver’s side window, a rear passenger’s window and the rear window before pulling out a gun and firing a shot into the SUV, according to police.

A 9mm shell casing was found in the area, but no one was injured. Holdsclaw surrendered and was booked into the Fulton County jail, where she stayed for two days before being released on $100,000 bond.

Holdsclaw declined to speak to a Channel 2 Action News reporter following her court appearance Thursday.
