A former assistant principal in Missouri pleaded guilty Thursday to soliciting sexually explicit photos from a 13-year-old victim by posing online as a teenage girl, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice’s western district of Missouri.

Colby Fronterhouse, 41, was working as an assistant principal at Nixa Junior High School in Nixa, Missouri, at the time of the offense, according to the release. He was fired Feb. 8, according to the release.

In September 2020, the 13-year-old victim and his father contacted a Christian County sheriff’s deputy after the child victim said he had been exchanging texts with Fronterhouse, who posed as a 14-year-old female, for almost a week, the release stated.

The child victim said Fronterhouse encouraged him to send sexually explicit images of himself posed in certain ways, according to the release.

After linking him to the burner cellphone account, officers executed a search warrant and arrested Fronterhouse at his home in January, according to the release. Investigators confirmed that Fronterhouse had access to the child victim’s cell number through school records, according to the release.

“Under federal statutes, Fronterhouse is subject to a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison without parole, up to a sentence of 20 years in federal prison without parole,” the release stated.
