Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager knows what it's like to have your life scrutinized as a teenager. So the younger of former President George W. Bush's twins has come out to defend Sasha and Malia Obama, who were recently criticized on social media by a GOP aide. Elizabeth Lauten, who was communications director for U.S. Rep. Stephen Fincher of Tennessee, has since resigned.

"I'm fiercely protective of them, obviously," the TODAY correspondent told host Andy Cohen during a Wednesday segment of "Watch What Happens Live."  "I don't think that it's easy. It's not a job that they, you know, wanted. … I had a hard time [growing up in the White House], but it's also a privilege. ... They're great girls. ... They've done an incredible job."

Hager and her sister, Barbara, were cited for underage drinking when they were 19, during their father's first term. Police accused Hager of trying to buy alcohol using a fake ID, and her sister, who successfully ordered a drink, with being a minor in possession of alcohol. The incidents took place near the University of Texas campus and would have been nothing out of the ordinary if not for the fact that their father was in his first term as president.
