Police arrested Vincent Littlejohn on Monday on two counts of taking indecent liberties with a student at Sugar Creek Charter School in Charlotte, where he worked as a teacher this fall.

School officials said Littlejohn was hired in September and sexually assaulted the victim at the school multiple times between Sept. 29 and Oct. 29.

Littlejohn declined to comment when contacted Tuesday morning.

The director at Sugar Creek Charter School said Littlejohn was immediately put on paid administrative leave after they learned of the case three weeks ago, but he has since been fired.

School officials said they are sending home a letter with students to notify parents of the incident.
