According to police, 29-year-old Amelia West had tried to harm herself by drinking toilet cleaner. While investigating, officers learned West had made her 2-year-old and 3-month-old children also drink the toilet cleaner, police said.

The children were checked out at Halifax Health Medical Center and later released from the hospital.

West was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse. She is being held at the Volusia County Jail on no bond.
