Stormy weather and high winds brought down trees on an east Cobb County home, injuring an 11-year-old boy sleeping in his own room, Channel 2 Action News is reporting.

Tanner Gottschalk survived, but had to have dozens of stitches on his head, and may have a concussion, Channel 2 said doctors believe.

Six trees crashed onto the home on Oak Knoll Drive. The tree that injured Tanner, a large pine tree, fell around 5 a.m., Friday, according to reports.

Channel 2 reports that Tanner is expected to recover.
