Emory University student Meredith Green has been staying inside her off-campus apartment and spending time with friends.

She expressed worries about a possible power outage and has taken extra precautions.

“I have been charging literally everything,” Green, 21, said. “If we lose power, I want all my electronics to be charged so I can watch movies and do my homework.”

Green made sure she stocked up on food before the storm hit because, she said, she knows “the supermarkets are crazy.”

Given the conditions outside, Green said she is not planning on driving anywhere any time soon. She has, however, been communicating with her friends over Facebook and via text message.
