A 76-year-old man who was hit by a car walking home from a Bingo game has died, authorities said Thursday.

William Scarborough of Walton County had to give up driving due to health and walked everywhere, his family said.

He was hit by a vehicle as he walked home from Bingo on Friday night.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene, authorities said.

On Thursday, a spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol confirmed Scarborough’s death and said GSP is continuing its investigation.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation, the spokesman said.
