A potential speeding ticket turned into a trip to jail for a Dunwoody man.

A Forsyth County Sheriff’s deputies said the driver of a dark-colored Chevrolet pick-up was clocked going about 86 miles an hour in the southbound lanes of Ga. 400. The driver of the truck, identified as Brando Friday, did not stop when a deputy attempted to pull him over near Peachtree Parkway, said Doug Rainwater, spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

“The truck accelerated, and that is when the chase started,” Rainwater said. “He passed three exits, we’re probably talking about six miles, and exited at Haynes Bridge Road in Alpharetta.”

Rainwater said traffic congestion may have caused Friday to think twice about his route, so he attempted a U-turn on Haynes Bridge Road.

“He went back, like he was going back to 400, but lost control and hit a tree,” the spokesman said.

Friday, who sustained a injury to his wrist and was treated by paramedics on the scene, was arrested and transported to the Forsyth County detention center. Charges, including the speeding ticket, are pending, Rainwater said.
