Anyone who expected to settle their case in Dunwoody’s court this week will have to wait until 2021.

A “possible COVID-19 exposure” prompted the city to close the Dunwoody Municipal Court through Thursday. The city’s statement did not elaborate on whether the “exposure” was a positive case, but it did say the closure was “out of an abundance of caution.”

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution, Dunwoody Municipal Court will be closed for cases scheduled through...

Because no court cases were scheduled for Friday or the last two weeks of the year, the affected court dates will have to be rescheduled for next year.

The city said the building will be cleaned. The courthouse is located inside Dunwoody City Hall, which is located at 4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Nearby Alpharetta and Roswell also had to close their municipal courthouses recently after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Court staff will mail notices to defendants with their rescheduled court dates. If your mailing address has changed, send an email with your new address to dunwoody.courts@dunwoodyga.gov.
