Before Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast late Friday, 30 dogs were removed from a potential flood zone in San Antonio, KSAT reported. All were placed in  temporary foster carefor the duration of the storm.

San Antonio Pets Alive!, which houses rescue dogs at the PetSmart in the Windcrest neighborhood of San Antonio, asked for assistance with the dogs and residents immediately responded.

“They just need somewhere to be safe because dogs get really scared during storms,”said Cassandra McCann, who fostered a mixed-breed dog named Peanut on Thursday.

McCann said she was going to go shopping with her sisters, but they changed their plans to remain inside and play with the dogs, KSAT reported.
