Gwinnett County Public Schools saw a decrease in out-of-school suspensions in the second quarter of the school year and an increase in in-school suspensions, school board members were told Thursday. Between Nov. 1 and Jan. 31 and the same period the previous year, out-of-school suspensions fell from 4,583 to 4,398, said Mames A. Taylor, executive director of academic support. In the same period, in-school suspensions rose to 9,127, compared to 8,730 in the second quarter of the 2011-2012 school year.
