The DeKalb County School District is rolling out new recruiting and retention bonuses that includes $1,000 for job candidates vaccinated against COVID-19.

The school district is also offering up to $2,000 for new hires, a retention bonus of up to 6% of annual salary, a $1,500 longevity bonus, a $500 attendance bonus, a $200 referral bonus and a $500 “wellness program,” according to a news release.

“As employers, we must adapt to the new labor market so that our District can cultivate and offer opportunities to only the best talent,” Superintendent Cheryl Watson-Harris said in the news release. “For those reasons, we have reexamined the way we approach recruiting and retaining top employees for our scholars.”

The Division of Operations and Transportation is also offering $1,200 paid training and a $150 referral bonus.
