A DeKalb County mom, arrested on charges of murder in the February death of her 3-year-old daughter will have a bond hearing Friday.

Meriel Kathleen Bemis, 21, is currently being held in the DeKalb County jail without a bond, in connection with the death of Lela Bemis. According to police, the woman admitted to suffocating the child because she was upset her boyfriend broke up with her.

She waived her first court appearance and is expected to appear Friday for the bond hearing.
