The man accused of stabbing his parents to death with a Samurai swords Thursday at their DeKalb County home has been charged with murder, according to jail records.

Calvin Ray, Jr., may have had a dispute with his parents about money, according to DeKalb County police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore.

Ray was arrested after a relative visiting the Pheasant Drive home found his 75-year-old father and 73-year-old mother dead, police said. He is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail.

He waived his first court appearance, court officials said Friday.

Ray, 39, allegedly had left the home in a family vehicle and was found at a nearby park, police said.

His parents may have been dead for hours, authorities said.

After shooting a man, Ray was arrested in 2007 after a standoff with police at the same address, Fore said. He served 20 months in prison following a conviction on aggravated assault and weapons charges.
