Decomposed body found in abandoned Oconee County home

A decomposed body believed to be that of a man was found inside an abandoned Oconee County home Thursday afternoon.
The body was found inside a home on U.S. 78, according to Sheriff Scott Berry and coroner Ed Carson.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the person’s identity, Berry said.
“We will not speculate as to a cause of death pending the autopsy,” Berry said in an emailed statement.
