One person was killed in a deputy-involved shooting Thursday night in Bartow County, according to police.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. at an Evergreen Trail home, near Cartersville, according to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.

Two deputies were involved, but neither was injured, Sgt. Jonathan Rogers told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The GBI is investigating the shooting, Rogers said. The shooting happened as deputies were executing a drug search warrant, according to John Bankhead, GBI spokesman.

No further details regarding the incident were released late Thursday.
