Henry County police and the FBI are searching for a clean-shaven, dapper and armed bank robber who walked into a SunTrust Bank inside a Stockbridge Publix grocery store Tuesday afternoon and left with an undermined amount of money.

Police spokesman Sgt. Joey Smith said the robbery occurred around 3 p.m. inside the Publix in the 900 block of Eagles Landing Parkway. The suspect showed the teller a black handgun in his waistband and handed over a note demanding money.

He fled in a maroon SUV, police said.

The slender black male suspect, who appears to be in his early 20s, was wearing a striped shirt with a white collar buttoned to the top and a dark blue suit. He also had a pair of big-rimmed glasses or sunglasses on top of his head, according to an image from the bank’s surveillance camera.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Henry County Police Department at 770-288-8200 or Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
