A woman died Monday night after being shot at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta, authorities said.

Atlanta police were called at about 10:30 p.m. to the Harmony Plaza Apartments on Myrtle Avenue. The complex is between Campbellton Road and Langford Parkway in the Campbellton Road neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found the woman suffering from several gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead by medical crews, police said. She was identified as 33-year-old Ericka Nicole Sherten by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives responded to the scene but no other information was provided by police about what led to the gunfire. An investigation is ongoing.
